High-Risk Merchant FAQs

Answers about high-risk eligibility, MATCH listings, reserves, high-volume accounts, international ownership, adult AI, and recurring payments.

Industry eligibility & account history

Do you accept businesses with a MATCH listing?

A MATCH listing requires individual review of the reason code, reporting acquirer, and corrective action. Some circumstances prevent approval under network or bank rules. Do not assume a new entity bypasses the issue; request confirmation and correction of inaccurate information through the reporting acquirer.

Understand MATCH review

Can you process $1 million or more monthly?

A proposed volume of $1 million or more per month requires bank approval of capacity, ticket sizes, financial strength, and exposure. Provide historical processing and bank statements, dispute data, fulfillment details, and forecasts. Volume increases and any additional merchant accounts need explicit approval.

Plan approved processing capacity

Do you support adult AI and NSFW content?

Centurion reviews eligible adult and AI business models, subject to acquiring bank and card-network rules. Underwriting examines content generation, prohibited-content controls, age and identity safeguards where applicable, consent, moderation, complaints, and takedowns. AI-generated content is not automatically exempt from restrictions.

Reserves, disputes & specialized operations

What chargeback ratios are acceptable?

There is no single safe ratio for every account. Networks use different metrics, time windows, counts, and regional rules; an acquirer may set stricter limits. Ask which fraud and dispute measures apply to your account and monitor early warning levels rather than treating a threshold as an allowance.

Understand network monitoring

Do you require a rolling reserve?

The acquiring bank decides whether a reserve is required and sets the percentage, holding period, cap, and release terms. Delivery delays, recurring exposure, financial strength, and dispute history affect the assessment. Model the cash-flow impact before accepting an offer.
